About Us

Freedom To The Nations is the fulfillment of a vision that Jessica Maldonado had when she was five years old. While standing at an intersection and holding her earthly fathers’ hand, he asked her, “Honey, what would you like to be when you grow up?” She looked to the heavens, like most children do when they are day dreaming, and suddenly she saw the heavens open. In this vision, Jessica saw herself as an adult, with long hair, safari clothing, sleeves rolled up, and hiking boots. Her hair was tied back in a pony tail and sweat covered her face. She wiped her face with the back of her sleeve while kneeling on her right knee before a line of wounded African children as far as the eye can see. She was in a rural African village surrounded by huts and dry land. The children’s wounds were bandaged with dirty rags, tree branches were used for crutches, and their open sores were draining blood and she was healing their diseases.

Jessica answered her father’s question and said: “I want to be a healer” This was Jessica’s best description to her father of what she saw that afternoon.

THE CALLING
The vision has stood the test of time. Jessica became a Registered Nurse and worked as a nurse specializing in emergency and operating room nursing. After many years in the nursing profession and simultaneously traveling to the nations, especially Africa, preaching the gospel, healing the emotional, spiritual, and mentally sick; the Lord called Jessica into full time ministry.

In 2006 during a season of seeking the Lord and asking for direction, the Lord gave Jessica the name of the ministry “Freedom To The Nations” along with the mandate of Isaiah 61:1-3 “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor, he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners…”
